A Massachusetts native and graduate of the University of Maine, he spent 19 years at the Biddeford-Saco (Me.) Journal Tribune, serving a variety of roles from columnist and reporter to features, business and city editor. He then became editor of the weekly Biddeford-Saco-Old Orchard Beach Courier for eight months. A Little League vice president, soccer coach and volunteer chairman for the American Diabetes Association, he lives in Lyman, Maine, with his wife, Debbie, and two sons, Brendan and Andrew.
Editor Bernie Monegain covers hospitals and integrated delivery systems, manages the commentary section and makes sure Healthcare IT News offers balanced and accurate coverage throughout all sections. Prior to coming to MedTech Publishing Company she served as reporter and editor at daily newspaper in Maine, where she covered healthcare, business and technology and other topics. Her work on the “Economics of Health Care,” earned her a Knight Fellowship. She has also served as editor of CC News, a trade publication focused on contact center technology.
Chip Means serves as Web editor for Healthcare IT News, Healthcare Finance News and Healthcare IT News Europe. Before coming to MedTech Publishing Company, he worked as a freelance writer in Massachusetts, Oregon and Maine. Means has experience in both print and radio journalism.
Contributing editor John Andrews has written about healthcare issues for 15 of his 22 years in journalism, covering the medical/surgical supply chain, hospital and long-term care administration and the home medical equipment market. Manos has been a reporter for 17 years with 10 years specializing in healthcare policy in Washington. She has worked on staff or contributed to publications such as AHA News, AHA NewsNow, Part B News, Report on Medical Guidelines and Outcomes Research, Hospitals and Health Networks magazine, Strategies in Post Acute Care, Nurse Leader, and The Washington Post.
